Revolutionising Logistics: Introducing The Autonomous Bradshaw T800

The new, autonomous Bradshaw T800. A powerful, electric tow tractor capable of towing 8-tonnes, driven by Oxa.

Meet the new, autonomous Bradshaw T800. A powerful, electric tow tractor capable of towing 8-tonnes, driven by Oxa. This vehicle is designed to help you optimise your operations, maintain a competitive edge, and move towards a more productive, safer and sustainable future.

We've teamed up with Bradshaw Electric Vehicles to integrate our Oxa Driver self-driving software, bringing you autonomous towing solutions that transform operations in demanding environments like airports, large manufacturing sites, warehouses, distribution centres and campuses.

The collaboration brings together Bradshaw's manufacturing expertise with Oxa’s autonomy system, resulting in a solution tailored to meet your specific operational challenges at scale.

Automating your fleet with the autonomous Bradshaw T800, has significant advantages:

- A Fleet That Never Sleeps: Autonomous vehicles can increase uptime and boost your productivity by operating 24/7. With no requirement for lunch breaks or shift handovers, you can better utilise the equipment to improve turnaround times and increase business capacity.

- More Predictability: Operations with autonomous vehicles are more consistent and reliable, which lets you plan more accurately. They can integrate with your existing material flow systems, like Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), allowing for dynamic tasking and real-time status updates.

- Enhanced Safety: The T800 eliminates threats to productivity like distraction, tiredness, and human error, leading to an improved and safer work environment. Using advanced sensor technologies to perceive its surroundings, it will detect obstacles, adjust its route and avoid collisions, reducing operational impact. Fire Safety Integration means the vehicles will automatically keep clear of pre-defined danger zones, and move to safe parking areas during a fire alarm. And dynamic zone management gives you direct control over site safety with the ability to modify speed limits and define keep-out zones.

- Reduced Costs: Adopting autonomous tow tractors can lead to substantial savings through reduced labour expenses, optimised fuel consumption and lower vehicle maintenance costs. The T800 is optimised for efficient acceleration, braking, and speed. Over time, you'll see a lower total cost of ownership and more efficient operations.

- More Sustainable Operations: Moving towards automated, emission-free electric vehicles can help you meet environmental objectives and ESG goals more quickly. By reducing fuel consumption and incorporating zero-emission vehicles, you can significantly lower your carbon footprint.

- A More Flexible Workforce: With ‘remote monitoring and assist’, you can achieve increased efficiency with one remote operator, based anywhere, supporting multiple vehicles from a more comfortable working environment.

- Increase Fleet Utilisation: Maximise operational flexibility and the use of equipment by allowing operators to quickly and safely switch between autonomous and manual driving modes. While autonomous vehicles take on repetitive towing tasks, human operators can focus on more complex activities.

The Bradshaw T800 vehicle offers reliable performance and is highly configurable for a diverse range of operational needs:

- Powerful Towing: With a robust 8-tonne towing capacity, the T800 can handle substantial loads and multiple trailers. It comes standard with a 20mm pin multi-jaw tow hitch with various size options, suitable for moving materials in manufacturing plants, or waste on operational sites.

- Reliable and Robust Build: The T800 features solid frame construction and reliable, automotive grade components for long-term durability. Its low-maintenance AC traction motor provides more power and performance while reducing operating costs.

- Smooth and Efficient Performance: The Oxa Driver system ensures a smooth drive and precision control, allowing for easier manoeuvrability in tight spaces.

- Ready for Any Environment: The autonomous vehicle is suitable for use in a variety of conditions, performing reliably both indoors and outdoors, day or night, and in various weather and lighting conditions.

- Integrated Safety Features: Standard safety features include LED headlights, twin tail lights, brake lights, an emergency stop button, and audible warnings to protect ground staff.

Our Oxa Driver software has been configured and fine-tuned for the logistics use cases of the Bradshaw T800, providing you with a specialised and highly effective autonomy solution. And because our software is universal, it works across multiple vehicle types, eliminating the need to invest in separate operating systems for different platforms.

To help scale the deployment of these vehicles, our Reference Autonomy Designs (RADs) offer a blueprint for seamlessly integrating autonomy into any vehicle. They optimise the sensor, computing, and drive-by-wire systems for specific use cases, ensuring efficient and reliable performance.

At Oxa, we’re putting autonomous vehicles to work to tackle labour shortages, rising operational costs, and the need for increased efficiency and safety within industrial environments.
